- Historical Background
The beginning of this educational establishment occurred on 17th February 1962 through the initiative of India’s initial prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The governing body of the college united with local residents to keep the memory alive by naming the institution Jawaharlal Nehru College.
In 1966 the college received approval to educate through the Intermediate level, while Magadh University Bodh Gaya granted its undergraduate education approval in 1970. The college developed as a constituent unit of Magadh University before the 1992 establishment of Veer Kunwar Singh University, Arrah.
